The Shared Stage: A Celebration That Brings Generations Together
The most moving moment of this journey comes during the final performance, when the young participants take the stage alongside the band. For the families in the audience, it is much more than a concert or a show. It is a true celebration of family life seen through the eyes of their children.
This shared joy reflects the spirit experienced in Rome from May 29 to June 1 during the Jubilee of Families, Children, Grandparents, and the Elderly, which brought together more than 70,000 pilgrims from 120 countries. In Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano, amidst an atmosphere of great enthusiasm, two leading figures in the contemporary Christian music scene took turns performing: Gen Verde and The Sun. It was an opportunity for Gen Verde to help create an experience capable of uniting different generations in a single expression of brotherhood and mutual care.
During the celebration in Saint Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV described families as the true future of nations and a concrete sign of peace in the world. He encouraged parents to be consistent role models for their children and invited grandparents to accompany younger generations with wisdom and loving guidance.
The messages of hope, reconciliation, and unity shared during these events become a lasting treasure for families everywhere. Marriage and family relationships are rediscovered as a strong and fruitful partnership, a guiding light that helps parents and children navigate the challenges of everyday life with greater confidence, joy, and serenity.
